John 3:17 - For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
We are familiar with the text John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." But many times we neglect to read the verse right after it.
God sent Jesus to the world not to condemn us, to punish us or to judge but he sent Jesus to save us. Too often we are quick to judge people, to condemn them, to want to have them punished...but Jesus did not even do that.
He came to show the world that despite all the wrongs and sins we have committed in the past, Jesus came to grant forgiveness through His ultimate sacrifice on the cross. And His desire is that we would believe in Him so that we wold have no need to perish, but have everlasting life.
So be like Jesus, do not condemn others, but rather show them the way they can be save through our Lord Jesus Christ!
